This abstract painting is an original, high quality, and 100% hand-painted artwork. Ready to hang with wire hardware. Edges are finished. Fully signed and dated on the back. Note that colors might differ in real life depending on your computer monitor settings.

Since I started painting in 2008, I preserved my mixed paint in plastic film canisters. Over the years, I accumulated dozens of canisters filled with a spectrum of colors. While the paint stayed wet for a decent amount of time in these little storage containers, it was difficult to keep up, and sadly, many of them dried up. I hated to throw away all that paint, even if it was rock hard. So, I began collaging with it, as seen with this piece.

Suggested locations for hanging: dining room, living room/den, hallway

I know that buying "fine art" feels intimidating for some, but I think of commissions as a collaboration between me and you, so let's start the conversation!

Alternatively, if you are interested in my work, but looking for a less expensive option at this time, I sell prints! Please visit the prints section of my online shop.

QUALITY & PRESERVATION

This piece uses archival professional grade primer and acrylic paints as well as three coats of an archival professional grade matte varnish for longevity and protection from UV and environmental pollutants.

The surface, a Ampersand Hardbord™ Aspen wood fiber panel, is USA-made, eco-friendly, high density, and extremely warp- and moisture-resistant. It is the most stable substrate on the market. Please note, due to the high quality and durability of the panel, this painting is heavier than traditional canvases.

If desired, a cloth or paper towel lightly dampened with water can remove any dust, dirt, or pet hair accumulated on the piece without damaging the underlying work.

Please note: Sun exposure can cause a barely perceptible color change to the paints over time, and color fading or yellowing is possible if hung in full direct sunlight for many years. In cases of high humidity (60%+), warping, cracking, or rippling of the paint or surface is possible over many years - please note this if you are interested in hanging this work in a bathroom or finished attic or basement. Generally, though, the water-based paints and varnishes I use are very durable and can withstand UV light and environmental impact over very long periods (100+ years). I am not responsible for any damage or destruction that occurs to the piece over time.

Thank you for visiting my shop and considering an original piece! I am always available at info@laurenzens.com, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments, or concerns.
